StyroSheet 349x28404 Commercial Coolroom LRWall Cross Section LRGarage Door LR

StyroSheet EPS sheets are durable and long-lasting; a material of choice that can be used across multiple industries for a range of applications.

Manufactured in Australia from our industry-leading Styroboard EPS, StyroSheet is renowned for its excellent thermal performance, strength-to-weight ratio, shock absorption and acoustic benefits. EPS sheets are the ideal core component for metal cladding, using a method known as Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS). They are safe to handle, easy to install, contain no CFC and are 100% recyclable.

As a foam insulation material, StyroSheet can be used for both external and internal polystyrene insulation requirements across commercial and residential building applications. Suitable for use on steel stud, timber stud, concrete and masonry structures, polystyrene foam provides an efficient and economical insulation solution. Weather resistant, with excellent thermal insulation properties and low moisture absorbency, expanded polystyrene sheets help protect against the effects of temperature and noise.

Polystyrene foam sheets can also be used across retail and creative applications. Highly versatile, it is an economical solution for custom signage, foam board signage, retail displays and even theatre props.

FAQs about polystyrene foam board

What are the uses of polystyrene sheets?

Polystyrene panels, also known as EPS foam sheets or boards, are used in many applications due to their lightweight properties, strength and durability. Common uses include:

  • Wall and floor insulation foam
  • Insulation for garage door
  • Cool room insulation panels
  • Core component for metal cladding Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems
  • Foam board for model-making
  • Retail signage
  • Event props.

Are polystyrene sheets suitable for insulation?

Expanded polystyrene insulation is a highly effective insulation material widely used in both commercial and residential construction applications.

Polystyrene has high thermal resistance because it resists heat transfer. This is partly due to the millions of tiny air bubbles within the foam insulation structure, and air is a poor conductor of heat.

EPS is also moisture resistant because the foam is already compacted, making it difficult for moisture to penetrate it. This makes EPS an excellent solution for preventing mould from developing.

Polystyrene foam board is used in a wide range of insulation applications, including exterior walls, ceilings, cool rooms, and under concrete slabs in commercial and residential projects.

How do you dispose of expanded polystyrene board?

All non-contaminated EPS polystyrene is 100 per cent recyclable. Because it is made from a single polymer, it can be turned into a multitude of products. EPS is straightforward to recycle and easily accommodated within a circular economy.

Foamex collects and recycles polystyrene from:

  • Offcuts and excess product from building sites
  • Offcuts from the factory floor
  • Commercial recycling agreements with customers
  • EPS packaging from the general public deposited in recycling bins at Foamex plants through its partnership with StyroCycle.
