Yes — clean EPS boxes are 100% recyclable. As a single-polymer material, expanded polystyrene can be remanufactured into insulation, building products, and more. Foamex supports EPS recycling through its StyroCycle network, site offcut collections, and commercial partnerships.

How are polystyrene boxes manufactured?

EPS is formed by expanding tiny polystyrene beads using steam, increasing their volume up to 40 times. These beads are moulded into boxes, blocks, or sheets. The steam is recycled throughout the process, making it energy-efficient and low waste.
