Slab Configuration Types

Raft Configuration:

Often referred to as a rib raft, waffle slab, or pod floor, this system forms deep ribs between pods, creating a rigid concrete structure. Suitable for reactive soils or beneath load-bearing walls, raft installations typically require a beam grid and increased amounts of steel and concrete.

Continuous Configuration:

QPODs interlock in a continuous grid, creating a flat, nest-like foundation that remains structurally strong while reducing concrete and steel use. By eliminating perimeter footings, slabs can be boxed onto hard fill, streamlining preparation and pours while delivering cost savings—often up to $1,000 on a 200m² slab.
