Social & Environmental Responsibility

As an industry leader and long-serving member of Expanded Polystyrene Australia (EPSA), we take our social responsibilities seriously and carefully consider how our business impacts the environment and society. We are constantly reviewing our processes to ensure a more efficient way of doing business.

We have reduced our greenhouse gas emissions and electricity usage as a result of an energy assessment in 2018 to improve our energy management. This in-depth analysis helped identify key areas where we could reduce our emissions and usage in order to save on energy costs and have less impact on the environment.

All the energy we use in Victoria and South Australia comes from renewable energy sources like windfarms, solar and more. This switch means we're closer to meeting our renewable energy targets as well as saving money.

The savings we’ve made have enabled us to further invest in our business, looking at ways in which we can replace outdated technology with more energy efficient alternatives. Our next step is the use of solar panels to generate our own power. We recently installed solar panels at one of our facilities, and it definitely won't be the last.

Minimising our impact on the environment will always be at the forefront of our business. Our environmentally friendly approach can be seen throughout the organisation – from how we manufacture our polystyrene, recycling of offcuts and waste, and working with our customers to ensure unwanted polystyrene is brought back to our facilities for repurposing.
