Styroboard XPS is an Australian made and owned product; produced on extruding machines in Foamex’s state of the art facility in Victoria.
Due to its high compressive strength and superior thermal performance, Styroboard XPS extruded polystyrene has long been the material of choice across residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
Extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam is rigid foam providing a strong, yet lightweight and flexible insulation solution which is resistant to water absorption. When many traditional insulation materials come into contact with water they loses their thermal abilities, but even when facing extreme weather conditions, Styroboard XPS preserves its thermal and physical properties making it a perfect robust building material.
As perimeter insulation Styroboard XPS is dimensionally stable, rot-proof and moisture resistant. It is also a suitable material for use indoors under floors subjected to heavy loads and constant foot traffic, and on variety of roofing applications as well.
Styroboard XPS sheets are manufactured from raw material containing a flame retardant additive, and are not a fire hazard when correctly installed. The polystyrene will burn when in contact with a flame, like other organic building materials, but it will self-extinguish when the fire source is removed.
