Styroboard® XPS
Robust, moisture-resistant, and thermally efficient
Styroboard® XPS is the only extruded polystyrene solution made in Australia. Foamex’s XPS products are engineered for demanding applications where moisture resistance and high compressive strength are critical. Manufactured to comply with AS 1366.4, this rigid, closed-cell foam delivers exceptional thermal performance and long-term durability across construction and civil engineering projects.
Lightweight yet structurally resilient, Styroboard® XPS is ideal for use in floors under load, inverted roofs, green roofs, car parks, and commercial insulation applications. It is dimensionally stable, water-resistant, and made from up to 90% recycled EPS collected from imported packaging —supporting green building outcomes whilst meeting the thermal and structural demands of Australia’s built environment.

Graphite-Enhanced EPS
Advanced insulation with improved thermal efficiency
Graphite Expanded Polystyrene (GEPS) is an enhanced version of traditional EPS, infused with high-purity graphite particles to significantly boost thermal performance. Manufactured in compliance with AS 1366.3:1992, GEPS offers superior R-Values compared to standard EPS—making it an ideal choice for energy-efficient construction where space is limited.
Lightweight, durable, and recyclable, GEPS combines the proven benefits of EPS with increased thermal resistance, helping reduce heating and cooling demands. Its grey appearance and enhanced performance make it suitable for wall, floor, and roof insulation in residential and commercial buildings focused on sustainable outcomes.

100% Recycled Plastic
Circular, durable, and versatile for concrete slab construction
Made entirely from post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste, 100% recycled polypropylene (PP) supports circular manufacturing practices without compromising strength or function. This robust, chemically resistant material is ideal for high-demand applications such as construction accessories and void fill.
100% recycled plastic pods are reshaping the way raft foundations are built. Designed for strength, stability, and improved concrete flow, these pods provide a reliable and sustainable alternative to traditional materials. Their interlocking structure supports uniform slab performance while contributing to waste reduction and circular construction goals. Without replacing proven solutions like EPS, recycled plastic pods offer another viable pathway toward more responsible, future-focused slab design.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between EPS, XPS, and GEPS?
EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) is a lightweight, rigid foam used in insulation and packaging. XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) offers higher compressive strength and moisture resistance, ideal for structural applications. GEPS (Graphite EPS) includes graphite particles for improved thermal performance compared to standard EPS.
Are Foamex polystyrene products recyclable?
Yes. Foamex’s EPS and XPS products are 100% recyclable. We actively support closed-loop recycling, using recovered materials in the manufacture of new products—minimising waste and supporting sustainable construction practices.
Which Foamex material should I use for my project?
It depends on your application. EPS is ideal for walls, under slab insulation, and packaging. XPS suits high-load or moisture-prone areas like floors, inverted roofs, and car parks. GEPS offers enhanced thermal performance for tight spaces, and recycled PP is great for industrial or structural accessories. Not sure which to choose? Try our handy [Product Selector Tool] to find the right solution for your project.
Do your materials meet Australian building standards?
Yes. All Foamex products are manufactured in Australia and comply with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1366.3 (EPS) and AS 1366.4 (XPS), ensuring performance, quality, and safety across all construction and industrial applications.
