Foamex delivers custom-engineered EPS and XPS products designed for performance, sustainability, and long-term efficiency. Lightweight yet strong, our polystyrene is ideal for waffle pods, under-slab insulation, slab-edge insulation, void formers, protective packaging, and more. These solutions help reduce structural load while improving thermal performance—supporting the design of energy-efficient, compliant buildings across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Recycling Programs
Foamex supports both public and commercial EPS recycling. In partnership with StyroCycle, we provide free public drop-off recycling via bins at Foamex sites across Australia. Additionally, Foamex enters into recycling agreements with local councils, retailers, and waste providers to recover and process expanded polystyrene packaging. All material is reprocessed into new EPS products—reducing waste and supporting a circular economy.
Responsible Practices
Our approach to circularity goes beyond standard recycling. Foamex collects and recycles EPS & XPS scrap directly from construction sites, helping reduce on-site waste and support greener building practices. Within our manufacturing facilities, 100% of offcuts generated during production are recovered and reprocessed into new polystyrene products. All sites are designed for maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
We are proud members of Expanded Polystyrene Australia (EPSA) and Operation Clean Sweep, working to uphold best-practice standards in safe manufacturing, waste reduction, and preventing plastic loss to the environment.

Our EPS and XPS products are fully recyclable, and we actively close the loop by reprocessing used polystyrene into new, high-performance solutions. Renewable Energy
Foamex is reducing emissions by shifting to renewable energy and improving energy efficiency. Our South Australian and Victorian facilities already run on wind and solar power. Since 2018, we’ve implemented energy-saving upgrades across multiple sites, lowering electricity use and emissions. Solar installations continue to expand as part of our national sustainability strategy.
